(1) Chassis Control Module (CCM). (2) Transmission Solenoid MC1. (3) Transmission Solenoid MC2. This fault code indicates the Transmission Solenoid MC2 output circuit has a higher than normal current and may be due to a short to ground.
Visually inspect Transmission Solenoid MC2, Rear Main harness and connectors ("C177" and "C001") for frayed wires, pulled connector terminals, broken or damaged parts. Expected Result: There is damaged parts or broken parts.
YES, repair damaged parts as appropriate, reconnect both connectors and recheck fault codes. If fault code is not active, repair is complete.
NO, go to Step 2.
Enter Mode 7 at the Electronic Monitoring Center (EMC). Select and turn ON identification number P361 (Transmission Solenoid MC2). Measure the voltage between terminals A and B of connector "C177".Expected Result: The voltage is between 5 and 10 DCV.
YES, go to Step 3.
NO, go to Step 5.
Turn OFF P361.Expected Result: The voltage reads zero.
YES, go to Step 4.
NO, go to Step 7.
Disconnect connector "C177" and measure resistance across terminals A and B of solenoid.Expected Result: The resistance measures between 1.6 and 1.9 ohms.
YES, go to Step 5.
NO, replace Transmission Solenoid MC2 and recheck fault codes. If fault code is not active, repair is complete.
Disconnect connector "C001" at Chassis Control Module (CCM). Check for short circuit in Rear Main harness from connector "C177-A" to "C177-B". Expected Result: There is a short in the circuit.
YES, locate and repair short circuit in Rear Main harness. Check fault code and if no longer active the repair is complete.
NO, go to Step 6.
Check for short circuit in Rear Main harness from connector "C177-A" and "C177-B" to battery positive at the Main Distribution Panel (MDP) feed cable.Expected Result: There is a short in the circuit.
YES, locate and repair short circuit to 12 volts in rear main harness. Check the fault code. If fault code is not active, repair is complete.
NO, go to Step 7.
Download latest control module software into all control modules. Expected Result: The fault code is active.
YES, go to Step 8.
NO, repair is complete. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.
Replace the Chassis Control Module (CCM). Expected Result: The fault code is active.
YES, install the original CCM and repeat this troubleshooting procedure.
NO, go to Step 9.
Install the original CCM. Expected Result: The fault code is active.
YES, original CCM was faulty. Replace original CCM with new CCM. If fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download latest control module software into all modules. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.
