Remove hose (2) and install additional tee (G1) at port "X" (5).Note: Illustration 6 shows the temporary test setup of the SmartBoom control valve. The original setup that is shown in Illustration 5 must be restored after the minimum relief pressure has been adjusted correctly.
Connect the free end of hose (2) that was originally connected to port "B1" (3) of the SmartBoom control valve to tee (G1).
Connect the free end of hose (4) that was originally connected to port "x" (5) of the SmartBoom control valve to tee (G1).
Use cap (G2) to plug the opened port "B1" (3) on the SmartBoom control valve.Test Procedure
Start Electronic Technician.
Select the Machine ECM and then select “OK”.
Select "Diagnostics" from the main menu.
Select “Override Parameters”.
Select "Boom Float Solenoid Override" and "Boom Down Solenoid Override".
Start the engine.

Lower the left console.

Automatic Engine Speed Control (AESC) as displayed on the programmable function key in the monitor.
Disable the automatic engine speed control through the monitor by pressing the programmable button.

Select the hydraulic modulation mode as high. Press the lower front switch on the left joystick to select the hydraulic modulation mode.
The air conditioning should be turned off for the following test.
Slowly activate boom up function in order to test the relief pressure for the head end and slowly activate boom down function in order to test the relief pressure for the rod end.Note: Be aware that the machine will be lifted from the ground if the Boom Down control is stalled.
Check the minimum line relief pressure at the load sensing signal pressure tap. Refer to Table 1 for the correct pressure.
If the minimum line relief pressure is correct, remove all of the modifications that were performed for this test.
If the minimum line relief pressure is incorrect, refer to the "Adjustment Procedure" procedure.Adjustment Procedure

Note: If an appropriate location is not available to fully extend the boom cylinders, exchange the functions of the boom line relief valves. Remove the line relief valve for boom cylinder head end (6) and the line relief valve for boom cylinder rod end (1) from the main control valve. Exchange the location of the line relief valves. Adjust the pressure of the boom line relief valve that is now attached in head end (6). After completion of line relief valve adjustment, return the respective line relief valves to the original locations.
