Dear Cat Product Owner:
The air cleaner needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing air cleaner can break and can cause engine damage. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 20Feb2014 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
Replacement of the 321-8124 Air Cleaner Group (FRG18)
1. Place the machine on flat and safe area.
2. Open the left middle door in order to gain access to the air cleaner group. Refer to Image1.1.1.

Two kind of air cleaner group can be installed on the 374D:
- The FRG18 air cleaner (basic)
- The SSG16 air cleaner and precleaner
Note: If the machine is equipped with the SSG16 air cleaner and precleaner, NO change is requested. Refer to Image1.2.1.
If the machine is equipped with the 321-8124 Air Cleaner Group (FRG18), the air cleaner needs to be inspected following the procedure below. If the air cleaner does not conform, it must be replaced. Refer to Image1.2.2.

If the 321-8124 Air Cleaner Group has been already replaced in the field, the air cleaner group needs to be inspected before it is replaced.
To check if the air cleaner group installed on the machine is good, the wall thickness of the air cleaner outlet pipe needs to be measured. The value of the outlet pipe wall thickness must be equal at 4.8mm and the ribs need to be as shown on Image1.3.1.
If the value of the outlet pipe wall thickness is egual at 2.2mm or 3.5mm, the air cleaner group is wrong and needs to be replaced.

Procedure to Replace the Air Cleaner Group:
1. Open the battery compartment to access to the air cleaner.
2. Remove the 8T-4989 Clamp fixing the hose on air cleaner.
3. Remove the 321-8123 Hose going to the air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Remove the harness from the indicator assembly of air filter change.
5. Remove the bolts and the 321-8124 Air Cleaner Group.
6. Install a new 321-8124 Air Cleaner Group with bolts. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 100
