D11N (4HK) Track-Type TractorsReference: Parts Manual; SEBP2237-01; D10N Tractor; Page 356. The 8E-7236 and 8E-7237 Covers can come loose. The panel covers are made from polyurethane foam and glued to surfaces behind the operator's seat. Use the following procedure to reattach the covers.
1. Remove all old adhesive from the cover and metal surface. It is important to have a smooth, adhesive-free surface. The new adhesive works best on closely-mated surfaces. Adhesive can be removed from the cover with your fingers. Do not use tools which might cause holes in the cover. The cover must make complete contact with the metal surface for maximum strength.Loose adhesive can be removed from the metal surface with a putty knife. Any remaining adhesive large enough to prevent a flat bond can be removed by applying a small amount of solvent. Usable solvents include 4C-4204 Cleaner and acetone. Allow the adhesive to soften enough to be scraped off with the putty knife.

When surfaces are clean and dry, invert the foam cover and apply Loctite 495 to the surface of the cover. Optimum results are obtained when the minimum quantity of adhesive needed to fill the joints is used. In general, one free-falling drop spreads over 2.54 cm2(1 in2).3. The lid is attached to the inverted cover by aligning the sharp corners of the cover and the lid. Apply firm pressure to mated surfaces until adhesive sets (5-10 seconds). A thin bond line provides a quicker set and stronger bond.
