Description of Change: The new belt guard has the following characteristics:
Improved geometry for stress relief and for avoiding interference
A broader top and bottom mounting tabsA longer bolt and spacer that improves the bolted joint is used for fastening the lower part of the guard.Adaptable To: The new guard is adaptable to the engines in the machines that are listed above back to first production.The new parts and the previously used parts are listed in Table 1.The effective serial numbers are listed in Table 2.

Guards removed
Remove existing upper and lower belt guards. Retain all hardware for reuse except the following:
209-5284 Guard
0S-0509 Bolt
9L-9132 Washer

(1) 390-1272 Belt Guard (2) 3K-2889 Locknut (3) 0S-1591 Bolt (4) 101-3120 Spacer (5) Washer
Install new guard (1). Attach the top tab using nut (2) and the original washer (5). Attach the bottom tab using bolt (3) and spacer (4) .
Tighten nut (2) to standard torque. Visually confirm clearance between guard (1) and the belt/pulley. Tighten bolt (3) to standard torque.

Reinstall upper guard using existing hardware and tighten to standard torque.
