View of the torque converter, magnetic screen location lower left side in illustration (see arrow).
The magnetic screen is on the left side of the torque converter case and is covered by a steel plate. As the oil is pulled up from the torque converter sump by the gear pump, the oil passes through the magnetic screen. The oil flows through the openings between the screen.As the oil flows over the screens magnetic, metal particles are collected by the screens. The oil then flows through the filter where other foreign particles are stopped. The particles are not allowed to enter the power train system.
