988B And 988F Governor Control Adjustments
1. Move governor control shaft (2) to fuel shut-off position.2. When viewed from linkage side of governor, install governor lever (11) on governor control shaft (2) so that lever is positioned approximately 35° clockwise from vertical (A). Tighten bolt (1).3. Assemble cable assembly (6), coupling (5), rod (4) and rod end (3). Attach cable assembly (6) to bracket assembly (12).4. Adjust cable assembly (16) until hole in rod end (15) is 7 mm (.28 in) to 10 mm (.39 in) FORWARD (C) of the hole in lever (14), then tighten nuts.5. Pull cable assembly (6) out to align holes, then attach rod end (3) to lever (11).6. Attach governor pedal (9) to shaft (8) approximately 20° clockwise from vertical (B).7. Set governor lever (11) to high idle and adjust setscrew (7) on pedal housing (13) until it contacts pedal lever (10).8. Check the travel of pedal (9) to be sure that governor lever (11) can be moved freely from shut-off position to high idle. Also check clearance of fuel injection lines and shut-off solenoid.
