This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0983" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the September 1, 1996 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Action Required.

Aluminum pistons, which do not meet reuse guidelines, may need to be replaced on certain 3406E Truck Engines with mileage between 500,000 and 750,000.

Remove six cylinder packs and six oil spray jets (single spray jet).
Install six 0R8333 Cylinder Packs and six 1003851 Oil Spray Jets (double spray jet) and related gaskets and seals.
Refer to SIMS and if Service Letter PS8700 or PS8748 had been previously completed, flash back to the original software.
