Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:Make sure the unit is off-line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators power service), and either locked out or tagged DO NOT OPERATE. Remove all fuses.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery or Battery Cable Disconnect".

Remove bolts (1) and guard (2).

Disconnect harness assemblies (5). Remove bolts (6). Remove bolt (3). Remove belt (7) from alternator (4). Remove alternator (4). Installation Procedure

Position alternator (4). Install belt (7) on alternator (4). Install bolt (3). Install bolt (6). Connect harness assemblies (5). Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Adjust the tension of belt (7). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alternator and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust".

Position guard (2). Install bolts (1).
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery or Battery Cable Disconnect".
