(1) Disconnect the 8N2710 Exhaust Tube Assembly from the turbocharger Y-pipe and muffler and remove it from the tractor (see the Service Manual). (2) Tack weld exhaust tube end (1) at six locations (A) [equally spaced] to the thermoshield. This will keep the tube on the inside in alignment with the thermoshield when the tube assembly is cut for installation of the bellows assembly. (3) Cut the center section from the tube assembly at the dimensions shown; the bellows assembly will be installed in this area. Cut the thermoshield back at location (B) at the dimension shown. This will give clearance for installation of the mounting flanges. Also cut back thermoshield flanges (2) at four locations (C) at the dimension shown, then weld the tube flush to the surface for clearance of the bellows shield. Each dimension given at locations (C) is the minimum amount necessary. Before welding the flanges to the inner tube make sure the bolt holes are in alignment so that when the bellows is installed the tubes are in the correct position.(4) Install mounting flanges (3) and (4) on the tube and tack weld at eight locations (D) to the thermoshield as shown. Make a .8 mm (.03") fillet weld all around at locations (E) and (F). Do not weld at location (G). Break the tack welds that were made earlier at location (A). (5) Install 4W4962 Bellows Assembly (5) with 5L3773 Gaskets (6), 5F8807 Bolts and 5P8245 Washers. Use 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the bolt threads. Install 4W5815 Shield Assembly (7) and 4W3710 Shield Assembly (8) over the bellows assembly with four S509 Bolts, 1D4717 Nuts and 5M2894 Washers. Again, install the exhaust tube assembly on the tractor; use a new 5L3773 Gasket at location (H).
