Information:
Test Switch for the Traction Control System (TCS) (28)
TCS Test Switch (28) - Push the top of the switch to test the TCS. Hold the switch in place during the test. Release the switch to end the test of the TCS.See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Traction Control System (TCS) - Test" for more information.Economy Mode Switch (29)
Economy Mode Switch (29) - The economy mode switch is intended to conserve fuel by engine power derate through the engine ECM. The economy mode switch is a three-position switch. When the top of the switch is fully depressed, the engine will be in the adaptive economy mode. The adaptive economy mode will automatically adapt the derate percentages based on the operating methods. When the switch is placed in the center position, the engine will be in power mode (no derate). When the bottom of the switch is fully depressed, the engine will be in standard economy mode (default derate of 10 percent). The derate for standard economy mode is programmable from .5 to 15 percent through Advisor or ET.Secondary Steering Switch (30)
Brake Release and Secondary Steering Switch (30) - Push the top of the switch and hold the switch to manually activate the brake release and secondary steering pump. Release the switch to return the switch to the AUTO position.Note: The secondary steering system will provide steering for a maximum of 1 minute when a typical single component failure occurs. The secondary steering system operates when the machine is stationary or when the machine is traveling in forward or reverse direction. The pump group for the brake release and secondary steering pump facilitates the following functions:
Secondary steering system
Parking brake release (manual disengagement)Regeneration Control Switch (31)
This switch is capable of two different functions regarding Caterpillar Regeneration System (CRS) Aftertreatment Operation. Selection of the proper function depends on whether the top of the switch is pushed, or the bottom of the switch is pushed.Caterpillar Regeneration System (CRS) Aftertreatment Operation
The Caterpillar Regeneration System is the process of converting the waste products of the diesel engine into carbon dioxide and water. The process uses high temperatures in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to facilitate the chemical reaction.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration" for an overview of the CRS operation. This article explains how the system works in all Caterpillar machines. The default regeneration mode at start-up is set for automatic regeneration. In the automatic mode the regeneration system on the engine will trigger regeneration when regeneration is appropriate. The operator may override the automatic regeneration cycle if needed.
Manual Regeneration (31) - Push and hold the top of the switch for 2 seconds to start a manual regeneration cycle. To stop the manual regeneration cycle, push the bottom of the switch at any time during the cycle.
Auto Regeneration Disable (31) - Push and hold the bottom of the switch for 2 seconds to disable the automatic regeneration cycle. There may be times that the operator determines that a regeneration cycle is not appropriate. Use the auto
