When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
A 3/4-16 THD STOR plug was incorrectly tightened on certain 0R1014 Reman water pumps assembled in the United Kingdom. The specified torque for this plug is 35 +3.5/-0 N.m. Water pumps affected by this issue were assembled in the following date code range: D22M09Y10PMX through D12M10Y10PMX (22 September 2010 thru 12 October 2010). A leak will result if this plug is not tightened to the proper torque.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 0R1014 water pumps in dealer parts stock.
Inspection Procedures:
Inspect the package date code label on the outside of the 0R1014 Water Pump box. (Image 1) The first nine characters of the date code indicate the Day, Month, and Year. The "Origin" box will have an "E" indicating if the parts were assembled in the United Kingdom.
- If the date code IS in the range of D22M09Y10PMX through D12M10Y10PMX (22 September 2010 thru 12 October 2010) and the origin box has the letter "E", tighten the STOR plug (1) indicated in Image2 to a torque of 35 +3.5/-0 N.m., mark the package to indicate the part has been reworked according to this program (PI7#### / REBE6594), and return the part to dealer parts stock.
- If the date code IS NOT in the range of D22M09Y10PMX through D12M10Y10PMX (22 September 2010 thru 12 October 2010), or the origin box DOES NOT have the letter "E", mark the package to indicate the part has been reworked according to this program (PI7#### / REBE6594), and return the part to dealer parts stock. No further action is required.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all water pumps inspected and re-tightened.
0.5 hours will be allowed for every three water pumps requiring re-tightening.
Ex:
- Three water pumps re-tightened = 0.5 hour claim.
- Six water pumps re-tightened = 1.0 hour claim.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
