Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Drain the coolant below the level of the clean emissions module. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Disconnect harness assembly (1). Disconnect fuel line (2). Disconnect coolant hoses (3). Remove bolts (4).

Remove diesel exhaust fluid injector (5). Remove gasket (6) and O-ring seal (7). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid injector (5) in the reverse order of removal. Note: To maintain cleanliness, the protective caps must remain in place until the final fluid connections are made.
Replace gasket (6) with a new gasket. Replace seal (7) with a new seal.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolts (4).
Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44 4 lb in).
Retighten bolts (4) to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44 4 lb in). Turn an additional 90° 5°.
