3126 (7AS, 8SZ) Truck EnginesThe high pressure oil line from the HEUI pump to the cylinder head should be assembled using the following procedure:
Illustration of HEUI pump and lines.151-0858 Tube Assembly (1),153-4907 Seal (2),153-1818 Elbow (upper) (3),153-4906 Seal (4),6v-9001 Elbow (lower) (5). 1. Lubricate the seals (4) lightly with 1U-6395 or 1U-6396 O-ring Compound and install on the port side of the lower elbow (5) and the upper elbow (3).2. Put the locknut, backup washer, and seal (4) as far back on the body of the lower elbow (5) as possible. Hold these components in this position and turn the elbow into the HEUI pump until the backup washer on the elbow just makes contact with the face of the pump.3. Apply 9S-3263 or 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the first three threads of the O-ring port end of the upper elbow (3).4. Put the locknut, backup washer, and seal (4) as far back on the body of the upper elbow (3) as possible. Hold these components in this position and turn the elbow into the cylinder head until the backup washer on the elbow just makes contact with the face of the cylinder head.5. Lubricate the seals (2) lightly with 1U-6395 or 1U-6396 O-ring Compound and install on the lower elbow (5) and the upper elbow (3).6. Install the HEUI oil outlet tube assembly (1). Rotate the upper elbow (3) and lower elbow (5) until they are in line with the tube assembly (1). Secure the nuts on the tube assembly (1) finger tight to the lower elbow (5) and the upper elbow (3).7. Tighten the locknuts on the upper elbow (3) and the lower elbow (5) finger tight.8. Hold the lower elbow (5) in position and tighten the nut on the tube assembly to 37 4 N m (27.4 3.0 lb ft).9. Hold the upper elbow (3) in position and tighten the nut on the tube assembly to 37 4 N m (27.4 3.0 lb ft).10. Hold the upper elbow (3) at the cylinder head and tighten the locknut to 48 5 N m (35.5 6.8 lb ft).11. Hold the lower elbow (5) at the HEUI pump outlet and tighten the locknut to 23 2 N m (17.0 1.5 lb ft).
