System Operation Description:Use this procedure to troubleshoot the electrical system if a problem is suspected with the protection override switch or if one of the event codes in Table 1 is active or easily repeated.

E085(1) Engine Shutdown Overridden The engine's Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects ground on the input for the protection override switch. If an engine derate or an engine shutdown is active, the derate or the shutdown will be overridden.
The code is logged.
E097(1) Engine Derate Overridden System OperationIf full engine power is needed, the protection override switch allows the user to override an engine derate or an engine shutdown. The wires for the protection override switch are routed from the ECM to the customer connector. The wires are then routed to a customer supplied switch.
