3. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the drive line disc brake assembly. 3. Remove four bolts (3) from yoke assembly (5).4. Disconnect drive shaft (4) from the yoke assembly and move the drive shaft to one side. 5. Remove retainer bolt (7), retainer plate (6) and O-ring seal (8) from the drive line disc brake assembly.6. Remove yoke assembly (5) from the drive line disc brake assembly.7. Support the drive line disc brake assembly. Remove eight bolts (9) that hold the drive line disc brake assembly to the front frame.8. Attach a suitable lifting strap and a hoist to the drive line disc brake assembly. Remove the drive line disc brake assembly from the machine. The weight of the drive line disc brake assembly is approximately 120 kg (265 lb).9. Remove O-ring seal (10) from the front drive shaft bearing housing.Install Drive Line Disc Brake Assembly
1. Put O-ring seal (10) in position in the front drive shaft bearing housing.2. Remove yoke assembly (5) from the drive line disc brake assembly.3. Attach a suitable lifting strap and a hoist to the drive line disc brake assembly.4. Put the drive line disc brake assembly in position in the front frame. The weight of the drive line disc brake assembly is approximately 120 kg (265 lb). Ensure the bleed nipple is facing towards the top of the brake assembly.5. Install eight bolts (9) and washers that hold the drive line disc brake assembly to the front frame.6. Install yoke assembly (5) in the drive line disc brake assembly and on the front drive shaft. Ensure yoke assembly (5) is aligned with the front drive shaft yoke. Refer to Drive Shafts, R1700 Series II L.H.D. Power Train, Specifications, Form No RENR4554 (9EL2017) for the correct procedure.7. Install O-ring seal (8), retainer plate (6) and retainer bolt (7) in the drive line disc brake assembly. Tighten retainer bolt (7) to a torque of 475 50 N m (350 37 lb ft). 8. Put drive shaft (4) in position in yoke assembly (5).9. Clean threads with Locquic Primer and apply Loctite 271 or similar thread lock prior to assembly. Install four bolts (3) that hold drive shaft (4) to yoke assembly (5). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 160 15 N m (120 11 lb ft). 10. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to the drive line disc brake assembly.11. Remove the air from (bleed) the drive line disc brake assembly. Refer to R1700 Series II L.H.D.
