(7) Spring The front brake cooling diverter valve is located under the left frame rail.When the service brakes are applied or when the retarder is used, the front brake cooling diverter valve will send the cooling oil through front brake oil cooler (2). If the front brakes are not being used, the cooling oil will flow through the oil cooler bypass.Oil from the hoist control valve and from the parking and secondary brake valve enters oil inlet passage (2). When the service brakes are applied or the retarder is used, signal air flows to air inlet (4). The air moves spool (3) against the force of spring (7). When spool (3) shifts, oil from passage (2) flows to outlet passage (6). The oil is sent through the front brake oil cooler. If the service brakes and the retarder are not being used, no air will flow to air inlet (4). Oil flow from oil inlet passage (2) flows to outlet passage (5). The oil will bypass the front brake oil cooler.
