(1) Submode identifier. (2) Data value identifier.
Enter calibration mode (mode 5) of the Caterpillar Monitoring System. Press and hold both the "SERVICE" switch and the "CLEAR" switch at the same time. Release the switches when "-5-" is shown in the display area. The transmission system indicator should now be FLASHING. This verifies that calibration mode is entered.
Enter submode 19 (Maximum Speed Lockout Setting). Press and hold the "SERVICE" switch. Release the switch when "19" is showing on submode identifier (1). Note: The present value for the maximum speed setting is displayed on the data value identifier (2).
Press and hold the "CALIBRATE" switch in the INCREMENT or the DECREMENT position. The data value identifier (2) will increase if the switch is placed in the increment position and the data value will decrease if the switch is placed in the decrement position. Note: The setting for the maximum speed can also be changed with the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET). See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Configure".
When the desired setting is selected, press and hold both the "SERVICE" switch and the "CLEAR" switch in order to exit the calibration mode.
