PROBLEM
The existing 454-0383 and 454-0402 Tube Assemblies of the swing cylinders may fail at the trunnion near the weld joint, and weld joint near the drain plug, which can lead to an oil leak on certain 424B Backhoe Loaders. If the existing tube assembly fails, it can be replaced with the improved 4174783/">417-4783 Swing Cylinder Group.

1. In the case of a weld joint crack in the swing cylinder tube, replace with an improved 4174783/">417-4783 Swing Cylinder Group. Refer to UENR5305, Disassembly and Assembly, procedures for swing cylinder replacement.

Note: A maximum of 5 liters of hydraulic oil is allowed for oil lost during cylinder replacement.
Note: Dealers can replace only the failed swing cylinder in a specific machine, not both swing cylinders.
Note: Dealers must attach a detailed failure analysis report including the cylinder part number, serial number, and clear failure images along with the claim.
