Remove the hammer tool from the hammer. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance, "Tool (Hammer) - Remove and Install".
Release the hydraulic pressure from the hammer. Refer to the Service Manual, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Remove the hammer from the host machine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance, "Work Tool - Remove".
Remove the buffer. Refer to the Service Manual, "Buffers - Remove and Install". Note: There is a different size of pin for each size of hammer.
Place the hydraulic hammer on hammer stand (A). Use a suitable lifting device in order to lift the hammer. Refer to Table 2 for the weight of your hammer.

Install one link bracket in each of the bolt holes on top of hammer plates (2).
Attach a suitable lifting device to each hammer plate (2). Refer to Table 3 for the weight of the hammer plate.

Remove bolts (1) from hammer plate (2).
Lift hammer plates (2) away from the hammer. Note: Inspect the sideplates for cracks. If the sideplates have cracks, repair the cracks.
Remove pins (3). Installation Procedure

Use a suitable lifting device to lift hammer plates (2).
Align bolt holes in hammer plates (2).
Install pins (3).

Install the two halves of lockwasher (4) together. The two halves of the lockwasher must fit together. The lockwasher is illustrated in illustration 3. Install six bolts (1) and six lockwashers (4). Tighten bolts (1) to the proper torque. Refer to Table 4 for the proper torque.
