CTP 1265975 Standard AS Fans for Model 416C/416D
CTP With the engine off, the ignition locked in the off position, and any required guarding removed, you are now ready to reverse your fan; There is a pink "DANGER" tag provided with your fan that should also be fastened to the ignition switch panel || Individually reverse each blade by simply pushing inward (towards the hub) to compress the spring and then begin to rotate the blade; it should only turn in one direction || Once the blade begins to rotate, you no longer need to keep pushing inward; continue to turn the blade toward the desired position; continue to reverse the remaining blades so that they are all in the same position || Once the blade is rotated fully to the desired position, the blade will "spring" outward and lock itself into place; Now the blade will not be able to be turned around without pushing it inward again; The reversing of one blade is now complete || Now that all of the blades have been reversed, the fan will force the air in the opposite direction. You are now ready to re-install the guarding, unlock the ignition switch, and continue operating the equipment with increased comfort

Information:
Test equipment and tools are now available from Caterpillar to test and charge (add gas) air conditioning systems and for reconditioning of Frigidaire compressors. Formerly, you had to get these items from other sources.
Tools To Test And Charge Air Conditioning Systems
These tool part numbers are in Chart (A). The 5P8579 Air Conditioning Test and Charging Group has all the fittings, hoses, and testers necessary to make a diagnosis of the system. All the components fit in a box for storage. See illustration 1. The three hoses in the group are 8 ft (2440 mm) long, about 1 ft (305 mm) longer than other test hoses for this use. The group has a thermometer and a 5P8585 Electronic Leak Detector which is more accurate than the flame tester.
Illustration 1. 5P8579 Test and Charging Group in its compact box.
Illustration 2. The charging cylinder to fill the system.
Illustration 3. The vacuum pump to remove the gas.Special Instruction SMHS7218 comes with the tool group and tells you how to calibrate (adjust) the electronic detector and the 5P8574 Thermometer.
The charging cylinder and vacuum pump are available for 110V or 220V power supply, so the correct one must be ordered for the voltage in your area. See illustrations 2 and 3. Special Instruction SMHS7229 comes with either charging cylinder and SMHS7228 comes with either vacuum pump. Be sure to follow the operation and maintenance instructions in both Special Instructions.
Service Tool Announcement, SENS6186 dated 6/77, lists all the part numbers of the components in the 5P8579 Group. Also, details on how to use these tools are in Service Manual Modules SENR7140 for motor graders, SENR7199 for track-type tractors, and in service training video tapes.
Tools For Disassembly Of Frigidaire Compressors
A complete set of tools is available to use on Frigidaire Freon compressors on Caterpillar machines. With these tools, you can remove and install the seals, clutch pulley, and pulley bearing. See illustrations 4 and 5.
The compressor tool part numbers are in Chart (B) that follows. The 5P7424 Tool Group has several components, all with Caterpillar part numbers, and are shown in Tool Announcement, SENS6185 dated 7/77. The use of the tools is shown in the Service Manual Modules SENR7140 for motor graders and SENR7199 for track-type tractors. The tool group comes in the box shown in Illustration 4.
