2. Loosen bolts (2) and remove the two bolts that hold the lower rear of plate (1) to the frame. 3. Move plate (1) enough to remove plug (3), the O-ring seal, spring and valve spool from the filter housing. 4. Remove bolts (4) and remove cover assembly (5) and the filter element as a unit. 5. Remove the nut that holds retainer (7) against the filter element. Remove retainer (7). Remove seal (6) from the retainer.6. Remove filter element (8) and seals (9) from the cover assembly.Install Transmission Oil Filter And Bypass Valve
1. Install seals (2) and element assembly (3) on cover assembly (1). Install the seal on retainer (4). Install retainer (4) and tighten nut (5) to a torque of 10 2 lb.ft. (14 3 N m). 2. Put cover assembly (1) and the filter element assembly in position and tighten the bolts to hold the unit together. 3. Install valve spool (8), spring (7), the O-ring seal and plug (6) in the back of the filter housing. 4. Move plate (9) in position and install the bolts to hold the back of plate (9) to the frame. Tighten bolts (10).5. Install the tool box and close the oil filter access door.
