Remove the tire and rim (front). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove (Front)".

Loosen, but do not remove locknut (1) from the right hand tie rod.

Use Tooling (A) to loosen the ball joint of right hand tie rod (2) from steering housing (3) .
Remove locknut (1) from the tie rod. Separate the ball joint of right hand tie rod (2) from the housing for the steering axle.

Use Tooling (C) to raise the temperature of the joint between steering cylinder rod (4) and right hand tie rod (2). Raise the temperature of the joint in order to loosen the thread lock.

Use Tooling (B) to hold left hand tie rod (5) in position.
Use Tooling (B) to loosen right hand tie rod (2) from the steering cylinder rod. Turn right hand tie rod (2) in a counterclockwise direction. Remove right hand tie rod (2). Remove stop ring (6) .
Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 in order to separate the left hand ball joint from the housing for the steering axle.

Use Tooling (C) to raise the temperature of the joint between steering cylinder rod (4) and left hand tie rod (5). Raise the temperature of the joint in order to loosen the thread lock.

Use a suitable wrench to hold steering cylinder rod (4) in position.
Use Tooling (B) to loosen the left hand tie rod (5). Turn the left hand tie rod in a counterclockwise direction. Remove left hand tie rod (5) .
