Information:
Low Idle - To decrease engine speed to LOW IDLE, push the bottom of the engine speed switch one time and release the switch. To increase engine speed in increments, push the top of the switch and hold the switch until the desired idle is obtained. To decrease engine speed in increments, push the bottom of the switch and hold the switch until the desired idle is obtained. The engine should be operated at HIGH IDLE for all normal operations. The machine may not achieve peak performance unless the engine speed is in the HIGH IDLE position. Engine speeds that are below HIGH IDLE may result in low power.Work Mode Switch (10)
Mode 1 - Press the bottom of the switch in order to operate the machine in working conditions. The MODE 1 allows more power for the tracks. Refer to the chart for mode selection for different applications. When the machine is on a slope of 15 degrees or more the machine must be operated in MODE 1.
Mode 2 - Press the top of the switch in order to be able to travel at maximum machine speed. The MODE 2 is used for maximum machine speed over long distances. MODE 2 provides more power to the implements. Operating in this mode allows the implements to be faster. The following table shows the recommended mode for different applications.
Table 1
Switch Position     Mode 2     Mode 1
Application     Max Speed at 10 km/h (6.3 mph)     Max Speed at 7 km/h (4.4 mph)
Digging     X     X
Truck Loading     X
Load and Carry Mode     X
Grading and Dozing         X
Backfill and Clearing         X
Working on Steep Slope (more than 15°)         X    Note: The max speed values are based on default calibrations.Note: The transition between the two modes is instantaneous.Parking Brake Switch (11)
Parking Brake - Press the top of the switch in order to engage the parking brake. A light on the monitoring system will illuminate in order to show that the parking brake has been activated. Note: The parking brake must be engaged in order to start the engine.
Parking Brake Release - Press the bottom of the switch in order to release the parking brake. Transmission Control (12)
Illustration 13 g01079749
Transmission Control Lever for Selection of Direction and Speed - The direction and speed of the machine are controlled by the transmission control lever. Slot (1) is for FORWARD. Slot (2) is for REVERSE. Position (3) is NEUTRAL. Position (4) is PARK. Machine speed increases in FORWARD or REVERSE as the transmission control lever is pulled rearward. Windshield Wiper/Washer Switches (13)
