Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard. Remove this debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at least every 1000 hours or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on a machine.
Perform the following procedures on a daily basis.

Inspection points for hydraulic cylindersInspect the hydraulic system for leaks. Inspect the hydraulic cylinders and inspect the cylinder rods and seals for damage or for excessive wear. Inspect the linkage and the work tool for damage or for excessive wear. Make any necessary repairs.

Inspection points for steps, covers, guards, and walkwaysInspect the steps, the walkways, and the handholds. Clean the steps, the walkways, and the handholds. Make any necessary repairs.Inspect the Falling Object Protective Structure for damage. Tighten any loose bolts. If repairs are needed, consult your Caterpillar dealer. Inspect the operator compartment for trash buildup. Check for trash buildup under the floorplate. Keep these areas clean.Adjust the rear view mirrors for the best operator vision.
