The actual decal will show the shear (two way) position of the levers in blue, the hammer in red (one way). Hammer flow adjustment.
Fig. 12: Flow meter connectionThe plugs on the stick ball valves can be removed so that the pressures can be measured at both sides (hammer supply and return line).Using the flowmeter charge screw and the Allen screws on the solenoid valves under the platform (see fig.5 and 13), adjust the pump flow so that the right flow is delivered at the normal hammer operating pressure (example: 300 I/min. at 150 bars). The right flow for a hammer setting is usually 10% under the maximum specified by the hammer manufacturer. This setting will provide together high hammer performances and durability. The hammer flow is a function of the pressure difference between the two solenoid valves. As an example, in order to get ail actuation pressure of 15 bars applied on the stem, the hammer actuation solenoid can be rated at 21 bars and the compensation valve must be rated at 6 bars.

Fig. 14: Flow vs. pilot pressure difference. Swing pump flow adjustment.When the hammer is working, the swing pump works to send increased oil flow to the cooler. That flow is controlled by the output pressure of the 1U-1100 valve located in front of the main valve.
Fig. 15: Swing circuit setting valve.As a starting point, the swing pump flow can be adjusted to about two third of the hammer flow. If the oil temperature is not adequate, the flow can very easily be adjusted to a more suitable value.

Fig. 17: 375 Swing pump flow When adjusting the hydraulic load with the flowmeter screw, the load increase may be too smooth to influence the pressure sensors of the excavator. For this reason, it is always recommended to check the flow with start and stops the hammer circuit at normal operating pressure and check the flow for several starts. When the flow is properly adjusted, the pilot pressures may be easily recorded by connecting a pilot pressure gage to the regulated outputs of the solenoid valves 116-4416. This pressure may be used to easily check that the hammer flow has not been modified after the installation made by the dealer. As the hammer flow is very sensitive to the pressure difference, those pressure must be recorded together with the oil temperature (available on excavator monitor) to make sure that the measuring conditions are the same. Hammer relief adjustment.Once the flow has been adjusted, the relief valve needs to be checked. To provide standard measurement point, a pressure gage will be mounted at the
