Shipping The Machine
Check the travel route for overpass clearances. Make sure there will be adequate clearance, if the machine being transported is equipped with ROPS, cab or canopy.To prevent the machine from slipping while loading, or shifting in transit, Remove ice, snow or other slippery material from shipping machine, loading dock and trailer bed, before loading the machine.
Obey all state and local laws governing weight, width and length or load. Observe all regulations governing wide loads
Always block the trailer or rail car wheels before loading the machine.1. Put the transmission selector lever in NEUTRAL on power shift machines only. Engage the transmission selector lever lock.2. Push the brake pedals DOWN and engage the parking brake lever.3. Stop the engine.4. Turn the start switch knob to OFF.5. Turn the disconnect key to OFF and remove the key.Install tie-downs at several locations, and block tracks, front and rear.Cover the engine exhaust opening to prevent turbocharger windmilling in transit.Contact your Caterpillar dealer for shipping instructions for your machine.
