Rework Procedure
Repair master joints at the dealer track shop using the Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin SEBF8546 (Positive Pin Retention) for proper repair procedures. Use Reusability Guidelines and Installation Procedures for Split Master Links For Reusable Track Parts SEBF8553 and Guideline for Reusable Track Parts SEBF8558 to determine the necessary parts to replace.
Inspect the fit of the pin end (threaded end) on all master links before installing. Some pin end master links may have an extension of forged material that may restrict the correct fit of the master links. Before installing the master links, make sure that there is no contact between the halves for the master links (Area B) as shown in the attached Image 1.1.1.
Image1.1.1
If the end of the threaded half master link makes contact with the mating half of the master link, then grind the end of the threaded half master link (area A) shown in the attached Image 1.2.1 in order to create clearance.

Use Shop Procedure for the Correct Installation of Serrated Master Links on Large Track-Type Tractors REHS3371 for correct installation of master links.
After repairing the master joints at the dealer track shop, the tracks should be returned with new master link bolts, thread compound, and proper instructions for installing the tracks on the machine. Use the following procedure to install the master link bolts when the tracks are installed on the machine:
1. Use compressed air and, if necessary, a pick
