When the machine is lifted, transported on another vehicle or service work is being performed near the center of the machine, connect the steering frame lock link between the front and rear frames to keep the machine in a straight ahead position. Before operating and when operating, be sure the steering frame lock, located near the center of the machine is disconnected and pinned to the retaining plates.
1. Put tool (A) in position underneath the engine and then fasten it to the engine guard. Remove the bolts that hold the engine guard to the machine frame.2. Remove the engine frame (1) from the machine. 3. Remove four bolts (2) and disconnect front drive shaft (3).4. Put wood blocks behind the rear tires of the truck.5. Release the hydraulic pressure from the front suspension cylinders. 6. Raise the front of the machine with two fifty ton screw jacks (4).7. Support the axle housing with a suitable floor jack (5).8. Lift the front of the machine until the front tires are off the ground.9. Remove the nuts and washers that hold the tire and rim to the wheel assembly. 10. Secure the tire and rim (6) to a lift truck as shown. Remove the tire and rim (6). The weight of each tire and rim is 650 kg (1465 lbs). Repeat this procedure for the opposite side of the machine. 11. Remove four bolts (7) from the ride height control bracket. 12. Remove the remaining bolts (8) from the ride height control shim cap.13. Remove shim cap (9). Disconnect grease line (10). Remove the shim cap and grease line from the other side of the machine. 14. Disconnect line (11). Disconnect grease line (12). Remove bottom bolt on the front suspension cylinder (13). Disconnect front suspension cylinder (13) from the front axle housing (14). Repeat Step 14 on the other side of the machine. 15. Support and secure both sides of the axle housing (14) with lift trucks. 16. Remove bolts (15) and pivot caps (16) from both ends of the axles.17. Lower axle housing (14) to the floor using the lift trucks and floor jack (5).Install Front Axle Housing
1. Put axle housing (14) in position with floor jack (5) and the lift trucks.2. Install pivot caps (16) with bolts (15) on both ends of the axles. 3. Connect front suspension cylinder to the front axle housing (14). Install the bottom bolt on the front suspension cylinder (13). Connect grease line (12). Connect line (11).4. Repeat Step 3 on the other side of the machine. 5. Install ride height control shim cap (9) and bolts (8). Connect grease line (10).6. Install shim cap and grease line on the other side of the machine. 7. Put ride height control bracket in position and install bolts (7). 8. Secure the tire and rim (6) to a lift truck as shown. Install tire and rim on the wheel assembly. Install the nuts and washers that hold the tire and rim to the wheel
