ACTION REQUIRED
1. Connect Cat Electronic Technician (ET) to the service port on the machine. Look for active diagnostic codes. A 268.2 - Programmed Paramater Fault: Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect should be present if the paramaters are not stored in the ECM. (Image1)
2. Verify the configuration paramaters are no longer programmed in the engine configuration. (Image2)
3. Document the configuration parameter that is no longer programmed using a screen capture method. (Image2)
The screen capture must be attached to the warranty claim in SIMSi.
4. Replace the existing Engine ECM with the appropriate part number Remanufactured ECM.
