Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove cover (1) from steering wheel (2) .
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

Disconnect harness assembly (3). Remove spring (4) and cover (5) from steering wheel (2) .

Remove nut (6) from steering wheel (2) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove steering wheel (2) .Installation Procedure

Install steering wheel (2) and nut (6). Torque for nut (6) is 82 5 N m (60 4 lb ft).
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

Install cover assembly (5) and spring (4) onto steering wheel (2). Connect harness assembly (3) .

Install cover (1) onto steering wheel (2) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position when the work is complete.
