Screed Extender
Note: The deflector plate on each extender should be checked. The following procedure can be used to check the deflector plate on either extender.

Place Tool (A) on the surface of the extender screed plate.Note: Surface of Tool (A) must be in contact with the length of the surface of the extender screed plate.
Measure the distance from the bottom edge of deflector plate (3) to Tool (A). The distance should be 13 2 mm (0.5 0.07 inch).
Check the deflector plate on each extender. If the position of a deflector plate is not within specifications, go to "Adjustment Procedure", "Screed Extender" to adjust the position of the deflector plate.Adjustment Procedure
Main Screed

Remove six bolts (4) and washers on center plate of screed. Remove three overlapping cover plates.

Remove six bolts (5) and washers.

Loosen two nuts (6). Slide deflector plate (7) forward and remove from the screed.

Adjust lower nut (9) on each adjustment bolt (8) in order to adjust the height of the deflector plate.
Replace deflector plate (7) and tighten the two upper nuts (6). Recheck the deflector plate.
If the deflector plate is properly positioned, replace the mounting bolts and washers. Replace three cover plates. Fasten cover plates in place with bolts and washers. Go to "Test Procedure","Screed Extender".Screed Extender

Remove four bolts (10) and washers on cover plate (11) of the screed extender. Remove the cover plate.

Remove two bolts (12) and washers. Remove plate (13) on the trailing edge of the main screed plate.

Remove four bolts (14). Remove endplate (15) from the main screed.

Remove three bolts (16) and washers.

Loosen two nuts (17). Slide deflector plate (18) forward and remove from the extender.

Adjust the lower nuts (20) on each adjustment bolt (19) in order to adjust the height of the deflector plate.
Replace the deflector plate (18) and tighten the two upper nuts (17). Recheck the deflector plate.
If the deflector plate is properly positioned, replace the mounting bolts and washers. Replace cover plate. Fasten cover plate in place with bolts and washers. Replace end plate on main screed. Replace plate on the trailing edge of the main screed plate.
