Assembly Procedure
Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring or a gasket. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.

Install gland cap (12) on piston rod assembly (9) .

Install U-cup (21), bushing (22), and wiper (23) in gland (18) .
Install washer (20) and O-ring seal (19) on gland (18) .
Install gland (18) on piston rod assembly (9) .

Install crown seal (15) and bearing ring (14) on piston (16) .
Install O-ring seal (17), piston (16), and nut (13) on piston rod assembly (9) .

Install piston rod assembly (9) into tube assembly (8) .
Tighten gland cap (12). Install nylon lock (11) and setscrew (10) .

Install backup rings (7), (4), and (3) on counterbalance valve (1). Install O-ring seals (6), (5), and (2) on the counterbalance valve.

Install counterbalance valve (1) .End By: Install the counterweight cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight Cylinder - Install" for the correct procedure.
