B 9X-8897 Bolt 2 Note: This procedure is intended for the removal of the guard assemblies in a shop environment. Conditions must be solid, flat, smooth, and unobstructed. Fully read this procedure and fully understand this procedure before proceeding with the work.Note: Use caution around potential pinch points. Be alert for possible movement of the guard assemblies.Note: Inspect all tooling for proper condition and proper operation.Note: Do not place any part of your body under the guard assemblies unless the mounting hardware is installed. Make sure that the tooling is in the proper location and giving proper support to the guard assemblies before the mounting hardware is removed.Note: Bottom guards may contain a significant amount of rock, dirt, liquids, and debris, which could result in significant extra weight.

Front Guard Assembly
Position Tooling (A) under front guard assembly (5). The weight of front guard assembly (5) is approximately 368 kg (810 lb).
Remove hinge bolts (4) and the nuts and the washers. Remove inspection latch bolt (6), the washer, and the lock nut.
Remove six bolts (2) and loosen but do not remove mounting nuts (3) and bolts (1). If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry front guard assembly (5) from the machine frame.
Ensure that no people are under front guard assembly (5). Remove bolts (1) and the washers and nuts (3) and the washers. Use Tooling (A) to remove front guard assembly (5).

Front Center Guard Assembly
Position Tooling (A) under front center guard assembly (9). The weight of front center guard assembly (9) is approximately 295 kg (650 lb).
Remove hinge bolts (7) and the nuts and the washers. Remove the inspection latch bolt (Not Shown), the washer, and the lock nut. Loosen but do not remove mounting nuts (8). If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry front center guard assembly (9) from the machine frame.
Ensure that no people are under front center guard assembly (9). Remove mounting nuts (8) and the washers. Use Tooling (A) to remove front center guard assembly (9).

Rear Center Guard Assembly
Position Tooling (A) under rear center guard assembly (12). The weight of rear center guard assembly (12) is approximately 295 kg (650 lb).
Remove hinge bolts (10) and the nuts and the washers. Remove the inspection latch bolt (Not Shown), the washer, and the lock nut. Loosen but do not remove mounting nut (11). If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry rear center guard assembly (12) from the machine frame.
Ensure that no people are under rear center guard assembly (12). Remove mounting nuts (11) and the washers. Use Tooling (A) to remove rear center guard assembly (12).
