At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Release the pressure in the cooling system. 2. Open the hood of the machine, and close valves (1) and (2) for the cab heater lines. 3. Remove four bolts (3) and cover (4) from under the cab.
View From Under Cab4. Loosen the two clamps, and disconnect hoses (5) and (6) from the two tubes under the cab heater.
Typical Example5. Disconnect wire harness (7) from behind the cab heater.6. Remove four bolts (8) that hold the cab heater to the floor plate. Remove cab heater (9). The cab heater can be installed in the reverse order of removal.7. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
