"Fan Override Switch"
The Engine Control Module (ECM) turns on the cooling fan when this input is activated. This provides improved retarding and braking of the engine. Increased engine cooling is also provided.

The ECM receives a signal from the transmission when the transmission is in neutral. The signal from the transmission can be broadcast over the J1939 data link or the signal can be sent directly to the ECM at terminal J1/P1:62. If a transmission neutral switch is not utilized, this parameter must be programmed to "None".

The neutral start interlock programmable setting enables the engine ECM to listen for the crank enable or crank disable message from the transmission. The engine ECM must also control the starter relay allowing the engine to start. The neutral start interlock is used with the engine running output parameter. The engine running output parameter must be set to J1/P1: 29, 30 or 31 to enable the starter. To enable the starter, the ECM provides a path to ground.

This input limits the engine torque to a programmable value. The "Torque Limit Switch" parameter cannot be programmed if the "PTO Configuration" is programmed to "Off". If the "PTO Configuration" is programmed to "Off", the ECM will ignore the "Torque Limit Switch".
