2 1 214-1727 Gasket The rear face of the front housing assembly (3) and the front face of the cylinder block (6) must be free of oil, fuel, water, dirt and any other contaminants during assembly. The gasket for the front housing assembly must be trimmed after assembly with the face (4) so that the gasket is flush.
5 - - Apply a continuous bead of ultrablack Loctite 598 immediately prior to assembling the front housing assembly. After assembly of the front housing assembly, remove excess sealant from the flange with a straight edge.
7 - - Apply ultrablack Loctite 598 to the T-shaped joints immediately prior to the installation of the gasket for the pan. The application of the sealant should cover the entire width of the T-shaped joints.
