This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44438" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

The existing engine software can cause the engine to stall on certain C13 Industrial Engines in a compressor application.

ACTION REQUIRED
1. Before going to the engine, download all necessary software from SIS Web as called out in the Parts Needed for the Affected Product.
Note: SIS Web only displays the latest available flash file.
2. Before updating the software, create and save a full Product Status Report and an ECM replacement file for the available ECMs.
Note: Failure to create Product Status Reports and ECM replacement files could result in a loss of configuration information which would require DSN assistance and create unnecessary downtime.
3. Flash engine software as called out in the Parts Needed for the Affected Product, or the latest files displayed in SIS Web.
