Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove nut covers (1).
Remove nuts (2) (not shown) and washers (3).
Remove cover (4) from the engine.

Remove banjo bolt (7) and sealing washers (6).
Disconnect tube nut for tube assembly (5) from connection (8).
Remove tube assembly (5) from connection (8) and the relief valve. Use Tooling (A) to cap the tube assembly and cap the connection.
Use Tooling (A) to plug the relief valve.

Remove allen head bolts (11) and the washers from cap (10). Remove the cap from plate (13).
Remove relief valve (12) from the fuel rail.
Use Tooling (A) to plug the fuel rail and cap relief valve (12). Installation Procedure
Ensure that the relief valve and the fuel rail are free from wear or damage.

Remove cap and lubricate the thread of relief valve (12) with clean fuel.
Remove the cap from the fuel rail. Install relief valve (12) to the fuel rail.
Tighten relief valve (12) to a snug torque of 30 N m (22 lb ft), then rotate the relief valve (12) clockwise an additional 24 degrees to achieve final torque
Remove cap (10) onto plate (13). Ensure that the cap is correctly located onto relief valve (12).
Install allen head bolts (11) and the washers to cap (10). Tighten the allen head bolts to a torque of 5 N m (44 lb in).

Remove plug from the relief valve and the caps from tube assembly (5) and connection (8).
Position tube assembly (5) onto connection (8) and the relief valve.
Connect tube nut for tube assembly (5) to connection (8) finger tight.
Install a new sealing washer (6) onto banjo bolt (7). Install the banjo to tube assembly (5) and install the remaining new sealing washer (6). Tighten the banjo bolt hand tight.
Tighten the banjo bolt (7) to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in).
Securely tighten the tube nut for tube assembly (5) for connection (8).

Install cover (4) to the engine.
Install washers (3) and nuts (2) (not shown). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).
Install nut covers (1).
