Pump Functionally
The EP1 central lubrication pump is an electric pump which can deliver grease up to NLGI-class 2. A DC motor operates an eccentric cam. This cam actuates the suction and pressure strokes of the delivery piston, whereby the integrated check valve prevents the lubricant from being sucked back from the main line. A stirrer pushes the lubricant out of the supply container through a screen, which removes any air bubbles, to the suction area in the pump housing. A wiper blade on the stirrer enables a visual check of the lubricant volume present in the transparent supply container.

(5) Relief valveThe pump is a fixed output piston pump. The pump output is 0.12 cc (0.007 cubic inch) per stroke/ pump rev. The pumping element is serviceable from the exterior of the pump. Follow instructions on pump label for proper assembly of replacement part.Note: Do not use brake cleaner on the lubrication pump, damage to the labeling can occur.

The pumping element must be inserted at an angle and then pivoted down to ensure a proper seating of the follower on the cam.Relief Valve
A pressure relief valve is installed on the pump. The pressure relief valve limits the system pressure to 280 bar (4060 psi).
