While operating under active autonomous control, the machine may move without warning which could result in serious personal injury or death. Maintain a safe distance from the machine when the machine is operated in autonomous control mode. Personnel who may need to work in the area of an autonomous control machine must know and understand the external mode indicators, job site procedures, A-Stop operation, and approach the machine only when safe to do so.
Do not enter the area where the autonomous machine is operating. Entering the area of an autonomous machine while the machine is under autonomous control may result in serious injury or death. Stay clear of the area where the autonomous machine is operating.
Autonomous trucks cannot detect obstacles that enter the path of travel while traveling in reverse gear. Entering the path of travel of a reversing autonomous truck can result in serious injury or death. Use extreme caution around autonomous trucks operating in reverse and remain a safe distance away from the trucks path of travel.
An autonomous mining truck may not be able to detect the following types of objects:
objects that are obscured by dust.
objects that are gentle sloping.
objects that are dark-colored or non-reflective.
objects that are submerged in water.
objects that are suspended above the lane.
objects that are shorter than 1 m tall.Failure of the autonomous mining truck to detect these types of objects could result in a collision with these types of objects and may create a risk of injury or death. Ensure that the travel path of the autonomous mining truck remains clear of these types of objects.
Do not enter the path of an autonomous vehicle at a 90 degree angle. The truck perception system will not trigger a stop condition until the obstacle is in the path of travel. The truck may not have enough time to come to a safe stop to avoid the collision. Entering the path of an autonomous truck can result in serious injury or death.
Do not approach an autonomous truck if the blue mode light is illuminated (solid or flashing). Approaching a truck while the blue mode light is illuminated can result in serious injury or death. Remain a safe distance from autonomous trucks.
All non-autonomous equipment that enters the area of autonomous operation must have functioning site awareness equipment and be tracked by the Cat MineStar System. Moving non-autonomous equipment into the area of autonomous operation can greatly increase the risk for a collision that may result in serious injury or death. Do not move non-autonomous equipment into the area of autonomous operation with site awareness equipment that is not present, not functioning, or powered off.
