Loosen the tracks.

Remove cover (1) and remove plate (2) .

In order to separate the tracks, use the following procedure.
Turn valve (3) .

Install slug (4). Check that the slug makes contact with the track bushing. Move the machine rearward so that the track will be pushed up by the slug. This will put tension on the track. Move the front idler. Move the track adjuster against the outward force of the recoil spring.

Move the machine forward so slug (4) does not put tension on the track. Loosen bolts (5). Move the machine to the rear so slug (4) will push up the track. Grease will be forced from the track adjuster through the secondary bleed hole. This will allow the track to become loose. After the track is loosened, move the machine forward and remove slug (4) from the track. Tighten bolts (5) in the track adjuster. Tighten valve (3) in the track adjuster to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).

Note: Make a separation of the track. Put the new track directly in front of the old track. Start the machine. Move the machine onto the new track assembly. If repair of the old track is necessary, install Tooling (A) .
Lift the machine and install Tooling (A) under the front and rear of the machine.
Start the machine. Move the track backward or move the track forward until the master shoe is just below the horizontal line through the center of the sprocket. Put Tool (B) in position under the track shoe that is below the master. Move the track backward until the track is rigid on Tool (B) .

Remove bolts (6) and remove master shoe (7). Make a separation of the master links.Note: The holes in the master shoe are positioned differently than the holes in the other track shoes.

Raise the track and lower the master link off Tool (B) with a lift truck or a hoist. Remove Tool (B). Use a hoist or use a lift truck and a master link to the floor.
Move the track forward slowly until the track is off the front of the track roller frame.

Note: If necessary, use a lift truck to remove the track completely from the track roller frame.
