For machines requiring removal of headliners due to water leaks in
the cab roof, an additional 3 hours labor is allowed.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
SHOP TOOLS AND MATERIALS:
- Electric hand drill
- 8mm (5/16 inch) drill bit
- Tube of Bostik 70-03A Black Elastic Bonding Adhesive or equivalent
- Medium gloss black paint
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Clean white cloth
PROCEDURE
1. Drill 8mm (5/16 inch) holes in the center of the transition between
the flat and the round sections of the light bars in four places. See
Image 1.2.1.

2. Insert the nozzle of the tube of Bostik into the drilled holes and inject sealant into the tube. Inject enough sealant to fill the transition from flat to round. Hold the caulk gun at about a 60 degree angle will help force the caulk into the flattened area of the tube. Inject sealant during removal of the nozzle from the hole to ensure that the drilled hole is filled. Wipe flush the drilled hole of excess sealant. See Image 1.3.1.

3. Caulk the base of the light support bars in four places. See Image
1.4.1.

4. Run a bead of caulk all around the base of the fresh air filter tube
at the intersection of the roof and the inlet tube. Be sure gaps are
evenly filled to the same height as the welds. See Image 1.5.1.

5. Clean tools or remove uncured residue of Bostik 70-03A with a clean
white/colorless cloth, moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol.
6. Touch up the repaired areas as needed using medium gloss black paint.
AFTER FAILURE REPAIR ONLY - Due to water leaking into the cab from the
roof area.
1. Remove headliners and clean rust deposit areas with Isopropyl
alcohol.
2. If needed touch up rust area using medium gloss black paint.
3. Replace headliners as needed, or re-install headliners.
