Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

(1) Filler cap for the aftercooler cooling system
(2) Filler cap for the jacket water cooling system
(3) Relief valve for the aftercooler cooling system
(4) Relief valve for the jacket water cooling system If the system overheats or if coolant is leaking, clean two relief valves (3) and (4) or replace two relief valves (3) and (4).
Slowly loosen two filler caps (1) and (2) in order to relieve system pressure. Remove filler caps (1) and (2).
Remove the bolts from two relief valves (3) and (4) and remove two relief valves (3) and (4).

Inspect valve (5), valve seals (4) and two gaskets (7). If necessary, replace valve (5), valve seals (4) and two gaskets (7).
Inspect valve cover (8) and mounting bolts (6).
Assemble the relief valve assembly and install the relief valve assembly.
Clean two filler caps (1) and (2). Install two filler caps (1) and (2).
