M320 (S/N: 6WL1-UP; 9PS1-UP)
Disassembly and Assembly, SENR6264, "M318 Excavator Machine Systems", "Disassemble and Assemble Stabilizer Cylinders". This module is a part of Service Manual, SENR6254 and Service Manual, SENR1690 and Service Manual, RENR1150.Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1957, "M320 Excavator Machine Systems", "Disassemble and Assemble Stabilizer Cylinders". This module is a part of Service Manual, RENR1160 and Service Manual, SENR1940.The assembly procedure for the stabilizer cylinder does not contain torque specifications for the collar, the piston, and the nut. The last four steps for the procedure are corrected according to the following statements.Note: The following procedure is used for the M318 (S/N: 8AL1-UP).
Put piston (16) on cylinder rod (28). Use a suitable spanner wrench in order to tighten the piston to 700 N m (520 lb ft). Install nut (12) in order to retain the piston. Use Tooling (C) and tighten nut (12) to a torque of 130 N m (95 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (14) on ring (17). Install backup ring (11), ring (17), and ring (10) on the piston.
Install O-ring seal (19), backup ring (21), and O-ring seal (15) on collar (24) .
Use Tooling (A) to carefully install cylinder (3) on cylinder rod (28). Extend the cylinder rod to the full length. Tighten collar (24) with Tooling (B) to a torque of 900 N m (660 lb ft). Install pin (18). Tighten pin (18) to a torque of 150 N m (110 lb ft).Note: The following procedure is used for the M318 (S/N: 6ES1-UP; 8SS1-UP) and M320 (S/N: 6WL1-UP; 9PS1-UP).
Put piston (16) on cylinder rod (28). Use a suitable spanner wrench in order to tighten the piston to 800 N m (590 lb ft). Install nut (12) in order to retain the piston. Use Tooling (C) and tighten nut (12) to a torque of 130 N m (95 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (14) on ring (17). Install backup ring (11), ring (17), and ring (10) on the piston.
Install O-ring seal (19), backup ring (21), and O-ring seal (15) on collar (24) .
Use Tooling (A) to carefully install cylinder (3) on cylinder rod (28). Extend the cylinder rod to the full length. Tighten collar (24) with Tooling (B) to a torque of 1100 N m (820 lb ft). Install pin (18). Tighten pin (18) to a torque of 150 N m (110 lb ft).Note: Please refer to the following publication for proper tooling: Tool Operating Manual, NEHS0629, "Using the 9U-78689U-7869 Spanner Wrench to Remove and Install Threaded Gland Cylinder Heads".
