Right Side of Machine (1) Port "L" (2) Generator motor (3) Port "D" (4) Port "A" (5) Port "B"Generator motor (2) is an axial piston motor with a fixed displacement. The generator pump supplies pressurized oil to operate the generator motor. The ports on the generator motor are labeled for identification. The following describes each port on the generator motor:
Port "L1" (1) for the case drain port
Port "D" (3) for the speed sensor
Port "A" (4) for the motor outlet
Port "B" (5) for the motor inlet
Port "L" for the case drain port (plugged)

Motor Cross Section (1) Cylinder block (2) Piston (3) Slipper feet (4) Flushing spool (5) Flushing relief valve (6) Valve plate (7) Swashplate (8) Output shaftThe generator motor uses fixed position swashplate (7) and an axial piston rotating group. When the generator system is operating, supply oil from the generator pump enters the motor. Supply oil is directed to the inlet port of valve plate (6). The valve plate directs oil into the piston chamber in the barrel assembly. This pressure forces the pistons which are aligned with the inlet port to move out of the barrel assembly. As the pistons are forced out of the barrel assembly, the slipper pads slide along swashplate (7). This action causes barrel assembly and pistons (2) to rotate. Since the barrel assembly is splined to output shaft (8), the output shaft also rotates. As cylinder block (1) rotates, pistons (2) align with the outlet port in valve plate (6). The rotation of
