Schematic of the rotor clutch solenoidThis diagnostic code is recorded when the Computerized Profiler Control ECM reads an above-normal current of the solenoid circuit for the rotor clutch. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energizer circuit of the solenoid circuit is shorted to ground.
The solenoid has failed.
The ECM has failed (unlikely).Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes. Clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 754 FMI F06 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:A Category 3 warning is shown on the Computerized Monitoring System (CMS) for the solenoid which affects the propulsion, steering, or rotor control.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Ensure that the diagnostic code CID 754 FMI F06 is active.
Observe the status of the CID 754 FMI F06.
Disconnect the machine harness from the solenoid and the ECM.Expected Result:The CID 754 FMI F06 changes to CID 754 FMI F05 when the solenoid is disconnected. Results:
OK - CID 754 FMI F06 changes to CID 754 FMI F05 when the solenoid is disconnected. The circuit is correct.Repair: The solenoid has failed. Repeat this test "CHECK THE SOLENOID" in order to verify the failure of the solenoid. Replace the solenoid.STOP
NOT OK - CID 754 FMI F06 remains active. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE ENERGIZER CIRCUIT OF THE SOLENOID FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the solenoid.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the ECM.
At the ECM machine harness connector, measure the resistance from the energizer circuit or signal contact 37 (wire L941-OR) to all possible sources of ground. The possible ground sources are contacts 2 and 39.Expected Result:Each resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - Each resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - Each resistance is not greater than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between the wire for the energizer circuit or signal contact 37 (wire L941-OR) and the circuit with a low resistance measurement.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS
Inspect and clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Enter diagnostic mode of the Computerized Profiler Control ECM and clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Check the status of the CID 754 FMI F06.Expected Result:The CID 754 FMI F06 is active. Results:
OK - The CID 754 FMI F06 is active. The fault has not been corrected. The ECM may have failed.Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. Refer to the Electrical Schematic of the machine and check all involved wiring harness connectors and wiring. Ensure
