Information:
Power Down Function
The Transmission ECU connects the +battery lines to the unswitched battery in the vehicle harness. The keyswitch ON (J1-1) pin that is on the Transmission ECU is connected to the keyswitch ON position in the vehicle. The software in the ECU controls the power down function when battery power is no longer supplied to the keyswitch ON pin. When the keyswitch ON input is turned off, the software will continue to run normally until one of the following conditions are met:
Transmission Output Speed is zero and Transmission Gear is Neutral.
Transmission Output Speed is zero and Engine Speed is zero. The second statement covers the case of the shifter being left in gear or is faulted because the ECU shut down due to power being turned off. When the shifter is faulted, the shift control logic holds the previous position of the shifter and will not shift to neutral as long as the shifter is faulted and the shifter was previously in a gear.Loss of Data Link Gear Inhibit
The loss of communication over the data link will result in a gear inhibit. The system will inhibit the transmission gears if the Transmission ECU is unable to communicate with the Engine ECM.If the transmission is in Road Mode and the data link fails while the transmission is in Neutral, Reverse, or 2F then the transmission will react in the following:
Only allow shifts between Neutral, Reverse, or 2F
Inhibit dropbox shifts on dropbox applications onlyIf the transmission is in Road Mode and the data link fails while the transmission is in 3F through 8F then the transmission will react in the following:
Inhibit upshifts
Once the transmission has been down shifted to 2F, only shifts between Neutral, Reverse, or 2F are allowed
Inhibit dropbox shifts on dropbox applications onlyIf the transmission is in Work Mode and the data link fails while the transmission is in Neutral, Reverse, or 2F then the transmission will react in the following:
Only allow shifts between Neutral, Reverse, or 2F
Inhibit dropbox shifts on dropbox applications onlyIf the transmission is in Work Mode and the data link fails while the transmission is in 1F then the transmission will react in the following:
Only allow shifts into Neutral, Reverse, or 2F

Inhibit upshifts
Once the transmission has been down shifted to 2F, only shifts between Neutral, Reverse, or 2F are allowed
Inhibit dropbox shifts on dropbox applications onlyNote: If the transmission gears are inhibited due to a loss of data link, check all of the connections for the data link. Also check for other diagnostic codes that indicate a loss of communication over the data link. Once the communication has been restored, the transmission will not resume full functionality until the transmission is shifted to NEUTRAL.Transmission Filter Bypass Function
The transmission filter bypass function is used in order to warn the operator when the transmission
