Information:
Start By:a. remove sprocket assemblies
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Drain the oil from the final drive case. 2. Install tool (A) and the 1A7486 Nut from the final drive group on the end of the sprocket shaft as shown. The nut and tool (A) will hold the hub and final gears in position when the case is removed.3. Remove the bolts and washers that hold the final drive case to the steering clutch case. 4. Install three 1/2" - 13 NC guide pins (1) through the final drive case and into the steering clutch case. Install two 1/2" - 13 NC forcing screws (2) in the final drive case. Tighten the screws evenly to make a separation of the case from the steering clutch case.5. Pull the case out on the guide pins until tool (B) can be fastened to the case. Fasten a hoist to tool (B). Remove the final drive case. The weight of the case is 135 kg (300 lb). The following steps are for installing the final drive cases.6. Clean the machine surfaces of the final drive case and the steering clutch case.7. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the machined surfaces of the final drive case and the steering clutch case.8. Install three 1/2" - 13 NC guide pins (2) in the steering clutch case.9. Fasten tool (B) and a hoist to the final drive case. Put the case in position on the guide pins and push it in as far as it will go.10. Remove tooling (B) from the case and push the case against the steering clutch case.11. Install the bolts and washers that hold the case in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 14 N m (100 10 lb.ft.).12. Fill the final drive case with oil to the correct level. See Operation and Maintenance Manual for correct capacity.End By:a. install sprocket assemblies
Perform Scheduled Oil Sampling on oil wetted compartments after performing service work to check for contaminants left in the system following repair. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
