Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install cylinder liners (1) in the cylinder block without the O-ring seals and filler bands.
Install Tooling (B).
Use Tooling (C) in order to check the liner projection at four locations around the liner. The difference between the four measurements must not be more than 0.05 mm (0.002 inch). Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cylinder Liner Projection" for more information.

If necessary, check the thickness of the cylinder liner flange. The thickness of Cylinder Liner Flange (X) must be 10.282 0.020 mm (0.4048
